Task 4

PART A
Capabilities
According to Oxford dictionary, capability defines as;
A talent or ability that has potential for development or use

In my opinions, people are capable in different areas. The capabilities are classified into 5 main areas; learning, work, communication, personl development and citizenship. For example, in learning, skills are essential such as study, concentration, preparations, thinking, problem solving and management of studying environment conditions. I had ranked the levels of my confidence in various areas in the previous post which in taggies called, levels of confident.

My lowest capabilitty was knowledge of differnet types of works and financial issues. I believe these were my lowest because, I did not study in areas of these before and was not aware of financial issues as I was still a teenager and parents are looking after us and I was never so keen to know more about these areas.

Importance of OHSW as a working citizen
stands for Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare and being a working citizen, people must be able to be a productive member of a group and contribute well to the group. Also people are aware of cultures and respect people at work places and must conform that there were discriminations in the work place when needed to gain personal right.

OHSW is important as a working citizen as the employees are secured in work places. The risks the citizens take decrease and the workplace create safer work environment. Also, the OHSW is a compulsory duty which employers must take charge of (damages and injuries of employees) and the company or organisation get fine for not following or instructing OHSW carefully. Also, employees can take responsibilities towards workplace and can get personal ownership through working safely.

PART B
Throughout PLP lessons in the second semester of year 10, it gave me good opportunities to rethink about my goals in the future through reseraching various jobs and reflecting myself what I love to do, what type of learner I am. From PLP lessons, we had organised an eportfolio which we documented progression towards the future. We began with setting out goal using SMART goal system. I had to consider the goals to be accurate, support reason why and whether are achievable.

 My goals were to get an academic award at the end of Semester 2 of year 10, getting an industrial design degree, learn to play soccer well, try get up early and have fun while in camp and china trip. I successfully achieved one of the goals which was to have fun in camp and China trip. I worried alot about China trip because I had never been away from home for so long (3weeks) however, I had ridiculous amounts of fun. I experienced many differnt aspects which I never have done in any places such as fighting when bargaining, eating Beijing duck,visiting famous tourist attractions and attending to Chinese school. Also, I made alot of good new friends from year10 as well which was very nice too. One goal achieved out of 5, I believe this is a very good achieve. The rest of goals are ongoing. There are the two which have duedates which are getting academic award and getting the industrial design degree when enter uni. I am hoping these goal will come true.

I am considering to become an industrial designer. Industrial designer is a designer who design the product (electric appliacnces, furnitures, clothings and more ) features for an effective uses, logo of products and advertisements. However, I am returning to Korea (country I am from) and the examination scale will differ from South Australia, SACE or IB. However, I learnt that I always have to study hard to achieve the goal I set about my career. I want to enter university called, Hongik university which is located in capital of Korea and is a famous art university. By entering and graduating from the uni, I will get a status where getting accepted from the job will become easier. My lacking study habits are shown through revising of the exam from last few weeks. As I now know that I can not concentrate in disturbances as I go back to Korea and become year11, I am going to avoid disturbances such as laptops, phones and more to study hard.

I became more certain about my future after PLP sessions. After participating in year10 PLP sessions, in a result, I have now aim and goal of what to do for my future career. Before starting the PLP sessions, I did not know about a specific career I want to take part of because I did not research on the career in detailed and I was not confident that I have the capabilities to take the career. I was always hesitated and changed my mind in different types of career. I also have learnt that I have high capabilities of level of confidence in communication and learning which will benefit me when I become a working citizen which I can coordinate with people well while learning news. My lowest capability was financial management. I guess if I get to budget of my earning if I gain one, I will improve on it and also if I became financially independet from parenets (in few years time), I will undergo how to manage the money slowly and before I must read alot of the financial problems and way to solve them. I also reflected on my studying habits. I found that I work efficiently and concentrate well when there is no disturbence and along in the spread area where is dinning table rather than own room.

The most significant aspects I have learnt in PLP was planning ahead and setting goals for the future whether the future is close or far ahead. I learnt to set SMART goals and in the future, I am going to apply this method to use. I am going to set more accurate and detailed goals to achieve something higher and something I haven't done before to challenge myself. Also, using my strengths in capabilities of communication and learning, I am going to become a good working citizen.
